Operations and Maintenance

Our company specializes in Operations and Maintenance Services. We can provide the following for your plant’s needs:

•Outage Planning and Management

•Preventive Maintenance Procedure development

•Performance Verification

•Troubleshooting and Upgrading of Electrical, Control, and Mechanical equipment and devices

Additionally, we can supplement your plant’s Operations and Maintenance personnel as needed. One area we have seen this arise a lot recently is in plants scheduled for decommissioning. As the scheduled shutdown date approaches, the plant experiences attrition to their O&M staff. EES can help supplement this shortage of personnel. We have experience navigating through this difficult situation. What we have seen to work best is to consolidate plant staff inwards to the Power Block and give over operation of full systems to EES. We can provide complete Operations Teams including an O&M Manager, Board Operators, and Auxiliary Operators. Our goal is to assist our client in ensuring that the plant continues to operate smoothly in the days approaching final shutdown.

Colorado Utility – Conventional Coal-Fired Generating Station

December 2019 - Present

As Unit 1 of Station is approaching shutdown in 2025 and Units 2 and 3 shortly thereafter, the plant is losing operations staff to other longer-term opportunities. Utility hired EES to provide Operational support as needs arise. Enthalpy-ES is currently providing support to the Water Treatment Systems, the Scrubber System, and the Coal Handling Areas, with an expectation for this service to expand to all outside areas.

Lock-Out Tag-Out Administration - Power Plant Staff Reduction

Arizona Utility - Conventional Coal-Fired Generation Station Units 1,2,3

July 2018 – December 2019

Utility shut down Station at the end of 2019. Enthalpy Energy Services (EES) was awarded the contract to perform tasks related to the clearance administration. This allows for a consistent crew to ensure the safety of all operations and maintenance personnel. Clearance administration is both inside and outside areas including the coal yard.

Enthalpy Energy Services is responsible for clearance training for EES employees as well other Utility contractors, as requested. The training is for Utility contract (staff aug) O&M personnel who will need to be able to request a clearance be issued; this is called Clearance Requester Training.  EES is also responsible for training personnel who will issue clearances; this is called Clearance Administrator Training.

In parallel with the clearance administration, EES has developed a systematic labeling program, and is tagging equipment and devices to ensure the safety of all including Utility contract O&M personnel who may not be familiar with the equipment at Station.

EES is also responsible for Breaker Racking Training on all voltages within the station for EES employees as well other SRP contractors, as requested.  EES duties include bulb replacement on the breakers.  EES also performs a monthly inventory and inspection on the ARC Flash clothing.  This includes cleaning, repairing, and replacing work or outdated gear, as required.
